GLENDALE, Ariz. — A "serious crash" caused closures near 75th Avenue and Camelback Road Saturday morning, Glendale Police Department said.

Police said officers responded to a multiple-car crash around 7:30 a.m.

A 28-year-old male driving westbound on eastbound lanes on Camelback Road crashed with two other vehicles, Glendale PD said.

The 28-year-old wrong-way driver was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and police said impairment is being investigated as a factor.

A 24-year-old male in a second vehicle was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

And a driver on a third vehicle was also transported to a hospital for precautionary measures, police said.

Camelback Road remains closed from 75th to 79th avenues as the investigation continues.

This is a developing story; it will be updated as more details are available.
