I-10 westbound reopens after semi-truck crash in west Phoenix

The crash happened at 51st Avenue exit in west Phoenix, leaving parts of the highway closed, ADOT said.

PHOENIX — A semi-truck crash in west Phoenix temporarily blocked parts of Interstate 10 near 51st Avenue.

According to the Department of Transportation, all westbound lanes were closed in the area. The roadway has since reopened.

Officers were called to the scene shortly after 10 p.m. and found a car and a semi-truck involved in the crash.

The driver of the car was seriously injured and first responders pronounced him dead on the scene.

Details about what led up to the crash are still under investigation.
