Motorcycle rider dead after crash in south Phoenix

North and southbound lanes on 32nd Street at Roeser Road are closed.

PHOENIX — A crash involving a motorcycle in south Phoenix has left the rider dead and an intersection closed for an investigation. 

The crash happened just after 5:30 p.m., officials said. Officers found a man who was riding a motorcycle with serious injuries when they got to the scene. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, officials said. 

Phoenix police said on their X account that the north and southbound lanes on 32nd Street at Roeser Road are closed. There is no estimated time to reopen the road. 

The driver of the car stayed at the scene. 

No other information was given. 12News is headed to the scene and will post updates here as they are received.
