Phoenix road closures for the Oct. 13 weekend

Take a look at the current closures and detours on Valley roads for the Oct. 13 weekend.

PHOENIX β€” Fall temperatures are slowly making their way to the Valley and everyone is eager to get out, visit the outdoors and enjoy the cooler temperatures.

But before you hit the road, there are a few closures and detours on Valley roadways you need to be aware of. Large portions of Interstate 10 and Interstate 17 will be closed off to drivers.

The Arizona Department of Transportation recently shared some news on closures on their Twitter feed. Here are a few notable reminders.

Broadway Curve Project

Work on the Broadway Curve Project in the East Valley is expected to continue this weekend. I-10 WB will be closed between US 60 and Loop 202 due to the project. The closure is expected to last from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday. ADOT shared specific closures and detours due to the project online at i10BroadwayCurve.com.

East Valley

If you're traveling to the East Valley, there is an important closure to keep in mind. Westbound US 60 will be closed at Greenfield Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday due to bridge work. You will need to use side streets to get around that area.

Other closures

Southbound Loop 101 will be closed between Shea Boulevard and Rio Salado Parkway from 10 p.m. Friday to 1 p.m. Saturday for pavement sealing. Southbound Loop 101 on-ramp at Cactus Road also closed.

Northbound Loop 101 is planned to be closed between Rio Salado Parkway and Shea Boulevard from 9 p.m. Saturday to 1 p.m. Sunday for pavement sealing. Both Loop 202 ramps to northbound Loop 101 closed. The northbound Loop 101 ramps to Loop 202 will remain open.

For a full breakdown of the weekend closures, visit the ADOT website.

As always, please stay alert and be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching and traveling through work zones.
