ARIZONA, USA — Editor's note: The above video aired during a previous broadcast.
Here's a breakdown of all the current closures and detours drivers will encounter on Valley roads for the weekend of Nov. 26:
No closures scheduled:
ADOT and its contractors will not schedule highway work that requires full closures on state highways from Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 24, to Monday morning, Nov. 29. Drivers should "Expect the Unexpected" and focus on safe driving as the annual holiday travel season starts in the Grand Canyon State.
Be an alert, safe driver:
If you're heading out on trips over the holiday weekend you should plan ahead and be prepared for unscheduled closures or lane restrictions due to crashes, disabled vehicles or other incidents. Slow down, avoid distractions and never drive while impaired.
Don't Forget:
Packing an emergency kit with items such as extra bottled water, snacks, a flashlight and other helpful items, including blankets, warm clothing, a first aid kit, prescription medications and a cellphone charger, can come in handy in case you encounter stopped traffic. Click the Weekend Travel Advisory Map for more information.
As always, please stay alert and be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching and traveling through work zones.
