PHOENIX — Fall is around the corner and double-digit temperatures are within sight. But before the extreme heat ends, we've got a few couple of weekends left with warm temperatures. It's a great time to get out for a road trip.
But before you hit the road, there are a few closures and detours on Valley roadways you need to be aware of. Parts of Interstate 10 and Interstate 17 will be closed.
The Arizona Department of Transportation recently shared some news on closures on their X (formerly Twitter) feed. Here are a few notable reminders.
One of the big closures to look out for this weekend I-10 westbound being closed between SR 143 and I-17. That closure will last from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday.
Another closure to remember is that I-17 southbound will be closed at Loop 303. This will also last from Friday to Monday.
Some other important closures include:
- Loop 202 WB closed from Gilbert Rd to Arizona Ave.
- I-10 EB closed from I-17 "Stack" to SR 51 (Fri-Sat).
- I-10 WB closed from I-17 "Split" to 7th Ave (Sat-Sun).

As always, please stay alert and be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching and traveling through work zones.
