Phoenix police car involved in central Phoenix crash

The crash involved a patrol car with two officers inside and a car driven by a woman who was processed for a DUI, police say.

PHOENIX — Three people are injured following a crash in central Phoenix that involved a police car and another car, police said. 

A marked patrol car with two Phoenix police officers was involved in a crash with another vehicle near 23rd Avenue and Indian School Road early Saturday morning. The two officers were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries and have both since been released. Both are at home resting, police said.

The woman driving the other car involved was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The woman was processed for a DUI and charges are pending the results of the toxicology report, police said.

The roadway has since opened up. Police did not identify the woman involved in the crash or provide any further details about the crash.
