PHOENIX — It's the weekend and we are ready to unwind and enjoy some much-needed rest. For some, that may mean hitting the highways for a road trip.

But before you take off, there are a few closures and detours on the Valley roadways you need to be aware of. Parts of Interstate 10 and Loop 101 will be closed.

The Arizona Department of Transportation recently shared some news on closures on their X (formerly Twitter) feed. Here are a few notable reminders.

Interstate 10

  • Eastbound I-10 is scheduled to be closed between State Route 143 and Ray Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday due to the Broadway Curve Improvement Project.
  • The southbound I-17 ramp to eastbound I-10 at the “Split” interchange near Sky Harbor Airport will also be closed.
  • Additional closures include the southbound SR 143 ramp to eastbound I-10, Westbound I-10 ramps to eastbound US 60 and northbound SR 143.

You can learn more about the construction progress at I10BroadwayCurve.com.

US 60

  • Westbound US 60 will be closed between Loop 101 and I-10 from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday for bridge and sign work.
  • Westbound US 60 on-ramps at Country Club Drive, Alma School Road and Dobson Road will be closed this weekend as well.

Loop 101

  • Northbound Loop 101 is planned to be closed between I-10 and Thunderbird Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 1 p.m. Saturday for pavement sealing.
  • Southbound Loop 101 will also close between Thunderbird Road and I-10 from 9 p.m. Saturday to 1 p.m. Sunday for pavement sealing.
