PHOENIX — Five people, including three children, were rushed to the hospital after a two-car collision in west Phoenix.
Phoenix firefighters said the crash happened Wednesday evening near 43rd Avenue and Encanto Boulevard.
When firefighters arrived, they found one adult female ejected from her vehicle and three pediatric patients requiring treatment and evaluation on the scene.
Officials said the woman was transported to the hospital in extremely critical condition. Phoenix police said three juveniles were also taken to the hospital for precaution as well as an adult male.
In 2020, the Phoenix Street Transportation Department ranked the intersection third among 600 in Phoenix for the most red light and serious crashes.
From 2016 to 2018, 43rd Avenue and Encanto Boulevard had 22 red light crashes and one pedestrian crash.
