A pedestrian was injured after being hit by a car in west Phoenix

PHOENIX — A Valley man was injured after he was hit by a car on Sunday night, according to Phoenix police

The department said officers were called to the area of 35th Avenue and Van Buren Street around 8:35 p.m. on Sunday due to a crash involving a pedestrian. 

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been hit. He was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, police said. 

The driver who hit the man remained at the scene of the crash. 

The investigation into what happened is still underway.
