1 dead after crash on I-10 in central Phoenix

PHOENIX — The eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 are reopened at 7th Street in Phoenix following a crash between a person and a car. 

Early on Sunday morning, a person was hit by a car on the eastbound lanes of I-10. The Arizona Department of Transportation said the person was running in the eastbound lanes for unknown reasons when the person was hit by a vehicle. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

The vehicle remained at the scene, authorities said. The identity of the person who was hit was not released.
