Top 10 most dangerous intersections in the Valley

A newly-released report looks at crash data from 2018-2022.

MARICOPA COUNTY, Ariz. — A new report is shedding light on the most dangerous intersections in the Valley.

The report was ordered by the Maricopa Association of Governments Transportation Safety Committee. It looks at crash data from 2018-2022.

The report measured data including the number and frequency of crashes, their severity, and the type of crash they were.

The top 10 intersections on the list are the following:

  1. 67th Avenue and McDowell Road in Phoenix
  2. 51st Avenue and Camelback Road in Glendale
  3. 19th Avenue and Peoria Avenue in Phoenix
  4. 67th Avenue and Thomas Road in Phoenix
  5. 67th Avenue and Indian School Road in Phoenix
  6. 83rd Avenue and Indian School Road in Phoenix
  7. Cave Creek Road and Sweetwater Avenue in Phoenix
  8. 51st Avenue and Thomas Road in Phoenix
  9. 27th Avenue and Camelback Road in Phoenix
  10. 99th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road in Phoenix

The list will help identify locations for the next round of road safety assessments to be conducted in 2024.
