Red Mountain Freeway near Mesa to be restricted nightly

The west and northbound will be restricted nightly Sunday - Thursday Nov. 5 - 24, and the east and southbound will be similarly restricted Nov. 26 - Dec. 15.

MESA, Ariz. — Loop 202, also known as the Red Mountain Freeway, will be restricted nightly Sunday through Thursday for pavement maintenance, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. 

Between US 60, also known as the Superstition Freeway, and Loop 101, also known as the Pima Freeway, in Mesa will be restricted on the following dates:

  • Nov. 5 - 24: North and westbound Red Mountain Freeway, between Superstition Freeway and Pima Freeway, will be narrowed to two lanes from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday

  • Nov. 26 - Dec. 15: East and southbound Red Mountain Freeway, between Pima Freeway and Superstition Freeway, will be narrowed to two lanes from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday.

The road closures can change due to inclement weather, ADOT said. The work will only occur Sunday through Wednesday and will pause during holidays.
