2 people were hurt after a crash involving a wrong-way driver on I-17 in Phoenix. Both of the drivers are being investigated for being impaired.

PHOENIX — A crash in Phoenix involved a wrong-way driver and injured two people, authorities said. Impairment is being investigated as a possible contributing factor.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety responded to a crash involving a wrong-way driver around 2 a.m. on Sunday near Interstate 17 and Adams Street

Authorities said the wrong-way driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is being investigated for alcohol impairment.

The other driver is also being investigated for alcohol impairment and has minor injuries.

AZDPS did not provide any additional information and did not release the identities of the drivers.
