PHOENIX — A semi-trailer full of electronic equipment buckled after being crashed into on southbound Loop 202 Thursday morning and blocked lanes for several hours.

A trailer being pulled by a dump truck suffered a mechanical failure which caused the brakes to lock up, Arizona DPS officials said, and the trailer swerved and hit the rear tires of a passing semi-truck. That caused the fully loaded semi-trailer to hit the ground and buckle, DPS officials said.

The trailer is estimated to weigh 72,000 pounds, officials said.

One lane is still blocked and drivers are asked to be cautious in the area. There is no estimated time on when that lane will reopen.

Only minor injuries were reported in the crash and no one was taken to the hospital.
