PHOENIX — A man is dead after a crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle in north Phoenix, the city's police department said.

Phoenix police officers were called to a crash near Greenway Road and 32nd Street around 8 p.m. on Saturday. When officers got to the scene, they found a man with serious injuries. The man was taken to the hospital but later died from his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the crash and he showed no signs of impairment, police said.

Police said the pedestrian was crossing inside a marked crosswalk, but the "do not walk" signal was displayed when he was hit by a vehicle driving east on Greenway Road.

Police did not release the identities of either men involved in the crash.
