TEMPE, Ariz. — Two people are dead after a crash involving three separate vehicles on Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway at Scottsdale Road in Tempe, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The crash happened shortly after 8 p.m. on Monday when a vehicle rear-ended an SUV. That SUV was struck by a truck pushing it into the median barrier.
Two people in the car that initially struck the SUV were killed in the crash. The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital and there is no word on his condition. The driver of the SUV didn't report any injuries, DPS said.
DPS is not looking to press criminal charges at this time. Officials haven't released the identities of the deceased at this time.
