PHOENIX — Police identified the man who died following a crash in west Phoenix late Tuesday night.
The two-vehicle crash happened around 10:30 p.m. near 83rd Avenue and Thomas Road, according to an early report from Phoenix police.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a passenger, later identified as 24-year-old Sergio Vasquez Jr., unresponsive. He later died at the hospital, officials said. The driver of the car with Vasquez was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The other driver involved in the crash stayed on the scene and spoke to police officers.
Speed may have been a factor in the crash, police said.
