PHOENIX — A woman is dead after a motorcycle and car collided on Saturday afternoon, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
Phoenix police told 12News that officers were called to the 32nd Street and Thomas Road intersection in east Phoenix at about 2:30 p.m. due to the crash.
When officers got to the intersection, they found a motorcycle that had collided with a car. The woman who was riding the motorcycle, identified as 28-year-old Janae Levine, had serious injuries and was taken to a hospital to be treated. However, her injuries proved to be too severe and the woman died.
The driver of the car involved in the crash remained at the scene.
Phoenix police says their initial investigation shows that the car was headed west on Thomas Road and was making a left turn when it hit Levine as she was headed east on Thomas Road.
Detectives are continuing to investigate this crash and police say and charges will come after an accident reconstruction process has been completed.
This is a developing story and more details will be added as they are made available.
