PHOENIX — Phoenix police are investigating a crash that has left a 30-year-old man dead near 47th Avenue and Baseline Road Friday.
Officers were called to the area and learned that a sedan was traveling westbound on Baseline Road when it went left of center and struck an SUV traveling eastbound.
The driver of the sedan, later identified as Trevon Burris, died from his injuries on scene. The two juvenile passengers of the sedan were transported to a local hospital and are expected to survive, police said.
Baseline Road was closed from 45th to 47th avenues during the police investigation.
This was one of several serious crashes reported in the Valley on Friday. At least seven people were killed and more than a dozen people were transported to hospitals with injuries.
