PHOENIX — A woman is dead after being struck by a car in Phoenix early Friday morning, city police said.
The woman, later identified as 31-year-old Jayvonita Warren, was allegedly crossing mid-block at about 3:30 a.m. near 27th Street and Broadway Road when the crash happened, according to police reports.
First responders took Warren to the hospital where she later died from her injuries.
The man driving reportedly stayed on scene, and didn't show signs of intoxication, police said. Police expect Broadway Road to be closed in the area for some time pending the investigation.
Police did not release what led up to the accident or any other details.
