CHANDLER, Ariz. — The Chandler Police Department is telling drivers in the city to slow down as they received a grant from the Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety to help crack down on speeding and other dangerous driving behaviors in the city, the department announced Saturday.
The department says the grant will "support a focused initiative to target and deter speeding, reckless driving and distracted driving behaviors in the area," according to a press release posted on social media.
Chandler police say more members of their traffic section will be patrolling roads throughout the month of March to look specifically for speeders.
The department is urging drivers to follow speed limits, pay attention to roads when driving and to "refrain from reckless behaviors behind the wheel."
