SR 87 partially reopens after brush fire near Fountain Hills forces closure, evacuations

State Route 87 was closed at Shea Boulevard due to a nearby fire before being partially reopened, ADOT said.

ARIZONA, USA — Drivers heading into the Valley on State Route 87 ran into significant delays Monday. A brush fire near Fountain Hills shut down the roadway and triggered precautionary evacuations nearby.

As of Monday afternoon, the left southbound lane is now open. All lanes in both directions of SR 87 were closed at Shea Boulevard as crews fought the fire, the Arizona Department of Transportation announced.
