PAYSON, Ariz. — The Arizona Department of Transportation says State Route 260 eastbound had to be closed east of Payson at milepost 256 due to severe winter weather conditions.
It was reopened around 3:30 p.m.
Officials say vehicles equipped with four-wheel drive were only allowed access up to Christopher Creek.
A storm rolling through the area has brought rain and snow into the High Country. Snow levels are expected to drop to 5,000 heading into Wednesday with light snow showers possible from the Grand Canyon to Flagstaff to near Payson to Show Low.
