PHOENIX — Four people, including a teenager, were rushed to a hospital Sunday night after a major crash happened in north Phoenix.
Firefighters said five vehicles collided near 19th Avenue and Jomax Road around 6:30 p.m. When first responders got to the scene, they found five people were hurt, one of whom had to be rescued from the wreckage.
Two men, a woman and a 14-year-old girl were all hospitalized and are listed as being in critical condition. The fifth victim, a man, refused treatment.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Traffic in the area was backed up for several hours.
