The crash happened at milepost 391 in San Simon, Arizona, just miles from the Arizona/New Mexico border. Here are the latest details.

SAN SIMON, Ariz. — Three people have been killed and two others have been seriously hurt due to a crash on westbound Interstate 10 near the Arizona/New Mexico border, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

DPS told 12News that the crash happened at milepost 391 in San Simon, a town just 11 miles from the Arizona/New Mexico line in southeastern Arizona.

A semi-truck and a car were traveling west when they collided. Three people who were in the car were killed and two others were seriously hurt.

The semi-truck also caught fire when the crash happened and DPS does not know the condition of the driver at this time.

The westbound lanes of I-10 are currently closed in that area.

Traffic coming from New Mexico is taking US Highway 70 to US 191, which reconnects with I-10 in between the towns of Bowie and Raso, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

No one involved in the crash has been identified and no other details about the crash have been released.

This is a developing story and more details will be added as they are made available.
