PHOENIX — Three people have died and one was injured after a wrong way driver collided with multiple vehicles on Loop 101 early Sunday morning, the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) said.
The driver, who has not yet been identified by DPS, was driving southbound down the northbound lanes of Loop 101 near Camelback road, troopers said. The driver then collided with multiple vehicles.
Three people were dead at the scene when DPS troopers arrived, the department said. An additional subject sustained minor injuries.
The crash caused northbound lanes on Loop 101 at Camelback road to close, DPS said. The lanes have since been reopened.
