1 dead in crash on I-10, DPS says

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the three-vehicle crash happened Wednesday afternoon.

PHOENIX — One person has died in a crash on I-10 eastbound near 107th Avenue Wednesday afternoon, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS).

According to early reports, a Toyota SUV driving east failed to slow for stopped traffic and rear-ended a Ford truck, which then was then pushed into the car in front of it.

The driver of the Toyota wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was killed in the crash.

The other two drivers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, DPS said.

Authorities haven't disclosed the identity of the deceased at this time. Early reports indicated that six vehicles were involved, but that number was later lowered to three.
