PHOENIX — A man is dead following an alleged hit and run in Phoenix, police said.
Phoenix police responded to a call of a man lying in the street who was unresponsive near 36th Street and Thunderbird Road at 6:42 p.m. The man was identified as 28-year-old Aron Moreno, police said. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the fire department.
Detectives took over the investigation. Preliminary information indicates a vehicle was traveling west on Thunderbird Road and hit Moreno. Police said the vehicle that hit Moreno did not remain on scene.
Police said anyone with information regarding the incident should call Silent Witness at 480 (WITNESS) or 480 (TESTIGO) to provide an anonymous tip.

Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
