SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — A person is dead after being involved in a crash Saturday morning, police said.

Scottsdale police said the call for a crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck came in around 9:20 a.m. on Saturday near Miller and McKellips roads. The motorcyclist, later identified as 36-year-old Elliot Carter, was taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead.

Police said that Carter was driving west on McKellips Road, approaching Miller Road, and he didn't stop at a red light. Carter then hit a pickup truck, police said.

Carter was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said. The two people in the pickup truck were not seriously injured.

Police said speed or intoxication were not factors in the crash at this point.
