PHOENIX — A small earthquake was recorded near Flagstaff on Tuesday morning.
According to the United States Geological Survey, a 3.3 magnitude earthquake was recorded about 13 kilometers, or eight miles, east of Flagstaff.
The exact coordinates of the earthquake were 35.183°N and 111.501°W, according to the department.
It was reported at 9:08 a.m.
Its depth was five kilometers.
Geological Survey officials say at least 14 people reported that they felt the minor earthquake.
There were no immediate reports of damage.
Geological Survey officials say hundreds of earthquakes occur in Arizona every year, mostly in the northern part of the state, and aren't strong enough to be felt.
Tuesday's earthquake comes just days before International Shakeout Day, a day dedicated to teaching people what to do in case of an earthquake.
