PHOENIX — Arizona and Sonora are neighbor states that don't just share a border dividing the two countries. Residents from both states often visit the neighboring state and, in some cases, buy properties on the other side of the border.

For the same reason, both states joined forces to put together a platform for investors and people interested in buying property across the border.

The 1st Real Estate Summit 2022 will take place in San Carlos, Sonora on May 19.

“The purpose of this event is to promote the relationship between the real estate industry of Sonora and Arizona”, said Jose Sierra organizer of the Real State Summit 2022, during the announcement at the Mexican Consulate in Phoenix.

Sierra said that there’s a mutual investment on both sides of the border and it’s important to know the procedures to avoid risks.

“It is time to do business and enjoy this space to develop opportunities, strengthen relationships and make alliances”, reads the event’s website.

The one-day event will have speakers from both sides of the border and translators will be available in Spanish and English.

The program will cover step by step how a U.S. citizen can buy property or invest in Sonora, as well as how Sonorans can buy and invest in Arizona. It will also cover how to make money within the real estate industry across borders, including marketing strategies. Experienced lenders and real estate agents from both states will be participating.

They’ll even touch on wellness and stress during the summit.

Sierra added that they expect to announce the date for the next event, to be held in Phoenix, Arizona in 2023.
