Young Cardinals fan runs in tribute to fallen Phoenix commander

A young Cardinals fan ran a mile while holding a 'thin blue line' flag in honor of fallen Phoenix Police Commander Greg Carnicle live on Facebook Monday

11-year-old Zechariah Cartledge, who lives in Florida, runs a mile for every first responder that loses their life in the line of duty. He ran more than 300 miles in 2019, and according to his Facebook page, Running 4 Heroes, he has already run more than 50 miles this year.

After every run, Zechariah sends the families of the fallen first responders a note and thin blue line flag.

Zecariah is an Arizona Cardinals fan and made a trip to the Valley last year after the team heard about his mission. We met him then, and you can watch that story below.

Commander Carnicle was shot and killed while responding to a domestic violence incident Sunday night near 40th Drive and Pinnacle Peak Road. Two other officers were also hurt. The suspect was killed after barricading himself inside his home for several hours.
