PHOENIX — Are you and your family interested in exploring Arizona's beautiful wilderness? Don't know where to start when it comes to camping? Don't worry, Arizona State Parks and Trails has you covered.
Their award-winning Family Campout Program is the perfect jumping off point!
The program offers an unforgettable camping experience designed to teach you and your family everything you need to know. From cooking over a campfire to setting up your tent, their experienced guides go over all of the essentials.
Add onto that a whole bunch of other activities like archery, mountain biking, kayaking, fishing and more, and you're in for a fantastic weekend.
Make sure to reserve your spot quickly though, because the camp out fills up fast. Registration will open on Thursday, Feb. 1 and costs just $90 for a family of four. Each additional family member is only $5 per person.
The program is open to everyone age 6 and up, so you can bring the little ones along.
Equipment like tents, camp chairs, flashlights, sleeping mats, and activity gear will be provided by the program. Activities vary by park and weather conditions.
You can register online and find more information on event dates at azstateparks.com/family-camp.
