Make-A-Wish making Super Bowl dreams come true for 17 kids

17 kids from around the country are being granted the ultimate Super Bowl experience by Make-A-Wish.

PHOENIX — In celebration of the Big Game, Make-A-Wish will deliver the ultimate Super Bowl experience for 17 children with critical illnesses.

The kids and their families are coming to Phoenix from 15 states across the United States.

Make-A-Wish was founded in Phoenix in 1980 and with the support of donors, works to grant life-changing wishes for critically ill children around the country.

"Our hope is that the wish kids we welcome to Phoenix will be filled with joy and inspired by the entire experience, helping them build the strength and resilience needed to face their illness," said Leslie Motter, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish America.

The Super Bowl is one of the biggest events of the year for the organization.

Festivities for the wish kids begin on Feb. 8, with a welcome celebration. At the event, the kids will get to hang out and get to know each other.

On Feb. 9, the kids will meet some of the biggest stars in the NFL on the red carpet at the NFL Honors event.

The following day, they will be at State Farm Stadium for a private behind-the-scenes tour of the stadium.

On Feb. 11, the party really starts with two back-to-back celebrations. The first party is courtesy of the Arizona Cardinals and will be at Dave& Buster's. Next up will be a party at Topgolf.

Finally, on Feb. 12, the biggest event of all the Big Game itself. The kids will be in State Farm Stadium to watch the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs face off in Super Bowl LVII.

"The Super Bowl is one of our biggest annual wish-granting events, and it feels even bigger this year knowing that we get to host 17 wish families in our very own backyard where we've been headquartered since the very first wish," said Motter.
