Who did the Arizona Cardinals draft?

The NFL Draft continues through Saturday and here is a look at who the Cardinals have drafted and when their next picks will be.

TEMPE, Ariz. — The next generation of Arizona Cardinals is rising up at the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit. 

The Arizona Cardinals hold 11 picks over the three-day draft. They have two picks in the first round, one pick in the second round, four picks in the third round, one pick in the fourth round, two picks in the fifth round and one pick in each of the sixth and seventh rounds. Keep in mind that the Cardinals could end up with more or less picks over the course of the draft due to trades.   

The NFL Draft takes place over three days. Round 1 was on Thursday. Rounds 2 and 3 were on Friday and Rounds 4-7 take place on Saturday and this year is being held in Detroit. 

Who did the Arizona Cardinals draft? 

  • Round 1, pick 4: Wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr, Ohio State

  • Round 1, pick 27: Defensive tackle Darius Robinson, Missouri  
  • Round 2, pick 3 (No. 35 overall) Traded with the 186th overall pick to Atlanta Falcons for the 43rd overall pick and 79th overall pick  
  • Round 3, pick 15 (No. 79 overall) Acquired from the Atlanta Falcons, traded to Indianapolis Colts

 

  • Round 5, pick 27 (No. 162 overall): Offensive tackle Christian Jones, University of Texas
  • Round 6, pick 10 (No. 186 overall) Traded with the 35th overall pick to Atlanta Falcons for the 43rd overall pick and 79th overall pick 
  • Round 6, pick 15 (No. 191 overall) Acquired from Indianapolis Colts : Wide receiver Tejhaun Palmer, UAB 
  • Round 7, pick 6 (No. 226 overall): Cornerback Jaden Davis, Miami   

Arizona Cardinals Undrafted Free Agents  

Wit the draft now complete, the Cardinals will now look to sign college players were who were not drafted. Here's who they have signed: 

  • Colorado wide receiver Xavier Worthy 
  • NC State long snapper Joe Shimko  
  • North Carolina defensive tackle Myles Murphy

Players with ties to Arizona who were drafted

  • Former Arizona State University quarterback Jayden Daniels was drafted by the Washington Commanders in the 1st round 
  • Former Marana High School and Arizona offensive tackle Jordan Morgan drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the 1st round 
  • Former Corona del Sol High School Aztec and Arizona State Sun Devil Rickey Pearsall was drafted in the 1st round by the San Francisco 49ers

  • Former Sandra Day O'Connor High School Eagle Bralen Trice was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the 3rd round
  • Former Maricopa High School and University of Arizona wide receiver Jacob Cowing was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the 4th round  
  • Former Pinnacle High School quarterback Spencer Rattler was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the 5th round 
  • Former Centennial High School defensive back Dominique Hampton was selected in the 5th round by the Washington Commanders
  • Former University of Arizona tight end Tanner McLachlan was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 6th round  
  • Former Arizona State University wide receiver Johnny Wilson was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 6th round
  • Former Hamilton High School running back Jawhar Jordan was selected by the Houston Texans in the 6th round
  • Former Hamilton High School wide receiver Brendan Rice was drafted by the Los Angeles Charges in the 7th round
  • Former Arizona State University offensive lineman LaDarius Henderson was drafted by the Houston Texans in the 7th round

Players with ties to Arizona who signed as undrafted free agents 

While 12 players with ties to the Grand Canyon State heard their names called in the 2024 NFL Draft, many others did not. Here are players who have signed with NFL teams as undrafted free agents: 

  • Former Gilbert High School QB Jack Plummer (signed with Carolina Panthers) 
  • Former Desert Mountain High School QB Kedon Slovis (signed with Indianapolis Colts) 
  • Former ASU defensive back Chris Edmonds (signed with Cleveland Browns) 
  • Former Arizona defensive lineman Tyler Manoa (signed with Minnesota Vikings) 
  • Former Arizona edge rusher Taylor Upshaw (signed with Carolina Panthers) 
  • Former Arizona running back D.J. Williams (signed with Tampa Bay Buccaneers)  
  • Former Arizona running back Michael Wiley (signed with Washington Commanders) 
  • Former ASU linebacker Travion Brown (signed a tryout deal with the Seattle Seahawks) 
  • Former Highland High School punter Austin McNamara (signed with Cincinnati Bengals) 
  • Former ASU defensive back Ro Torrence (signed with Seattle Seahawks)

Arizona sports 

The city of Phoenix is home to four major professional sports league teams; The NFL's Arizona Cardinals, NBA's Phoenix Suns, WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury and MLB's Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Cardinals have made State Farm Stadium in Glendale their home turf and the Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix is home to both the Suns and the Mercury. The Indoor Football League’s Arizona Rattlers play at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale.

Phoenix also has a soccer team with the USL's Phoenix Rising FC, who play at Phoenix Rising FC Stadium in Phoenix.

The Valley hosts multiple major sporting events every year, including college football's Fiesta Bowl and Guaranteed Rate Bowl; the PGA Tour’s highest-attended event, the WM Phoenix Open; NASCAR events each spring and fall, including Championship Weekend in November; and Cactus League Spring Training for 15 Major League Baseball franchises.
