GLENDALE, Ariz. — Here in Arizona, we have two of the most-well known stadiums with retractable roofs in the nation: State Farm Stadium in Glendale and Chase Field in downtown Phoenix.

However, that does not mean they are immune from the weather, as the Arizona Cardinals and Chicago Bears found out on Sunday.

The Cardinals began the game with the roof open, but a storm rolled through during the second quarter, dropping rain and hail on the players and fans.

The Cardinals then made the decision to close the roof and keep everyone inside dry for the remainder of the game.

The CBS broadcast showed the rain falling and multiple shots of the roof closing.

Many fans posted videos of the rain on social media.

This is not the first time this season that rain has fallen inside of a stadium with a roof in Arizona. Back in March, the D-backs had to call a spring training game at Chase Field against the Cleveland Guardians early due to rain falling.

The D-backs are currently unable to close the roof while fans are inside due to an issue with a cable.
