GLENDALE, Ariz. — Fans greeted the Arizona Cardinals at the second day of training camp, something head coach Jonathan Gannon said he and the team loves.

"[I] love when the fans are out there," Gannon said during a news conference on Thursday afternoon. "Gotta put on a show for them."

For day two, Gannon fielded questions on everything from how his coaching has changed from his first to his second year with the Cardinals to Max Melton's new tattoo.

The second round pick revealed part of his off-season included getting new tattoos on his chest and sleeve at a news conference on Wednesday. He had to go under anesthesia for eight hours while five tattoo artists worked on him.

"Good for him, that's a long time," Gannon said. "I mean, shoot, I had my hip replaced and that took 45 minutes... that's a big tattoo."

Gannon said he hopes he has improved since he began his work with the Cardinals last year: he "needed" to.

"You're either getting worse or you're getting better, you ain't staying the same," Gannon said.

As the Cardinals continue to practice, Gannon said he has an open door policy, inviting players in for anything from a quick hello to going over reps during practice.

"The players are the game," Gannon said. "The players are the best part of the job."
