SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — A former Arizona Cardinals player was arrested last month, Scottsdale Police Department officials said Tuesday.

All of the charges are misdemeanors, police said.

Police officers were dispatched to reports of a disturbance on the morning of June 1 and learned Wilson had allegedly gotten into a fight that involved him throwing and breaking items, according to a police report. After retrieving a firearm from a safe, Wilson allegedly left the residence and drove around for a while.

According to the police report, Wilson eventually came back to the residence, placed the gun in the garage and spoke to police officers about personal problems he had been having. He was then placed under arrest and taken to the Scottsdale jail.

Most recently, Wilson worked with the Carolina Panthers, joining their front office in February 2023. Before that, Wilson spent eight seasons in different roles with Arizona’s scouting department. According to a recent report from The Athletic, Wilson is no longer with the Panthers.

Wilson played his entire 12-year NFL career with the Cardinals and made five Pro Bowls.  He also became the 15th member of the Cardinals Ring of Honor in 2015.
