The Arizona Cardinals are having a historic season, and their rookie running back David Johnson has been a big part of it.
He's filled in as the team's starter after Arizona's Chris Johnson and Andre Ellington both went down with injuries and is making a case to keep the starting job even when everyone is healthy.
I'd also argue he's the NFL's Rookie of the Year.
Don't believe me? Well how about taking a look at these stats:
- Since taking over as starter, Johnson has rushed for 378 yards, three rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown.
- His 11 total touchdowns as a rookie is a franchise record.
- Johnson and Gale Sayers are the ONLY rookies in NFL history to score at least four rushing touchdowns, four receiving touchdowns and return a kick off for a score.
- He's rushed for 517 yards this season on 105 attempts, good for almost five yards per carry.
Convinced now?
