PHOENIX — The Arizona Cardinals are sending quarterback Joshua Dobbs to the Minnesota Vikings, according to a report Tuesday.
Initial reports of the trade were released by NFL insider Ian Rapoport on X, formerly known as Twitter.
News of the trade comes a day after Dobbs was benched Monday. Head Coach Jonathan Gannon announced Clayton Tune or Kyler Murray will start this weekend.
According to the Cardinals, the team sent Dobbs and a 2024 seventh-round pick to Minnesota for a 2024 sixth-round pick.
Dobbs joined the Cardinals earlier this season after spending time with the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers.
The 28-year-old signal caller from Tennessee threw for 1,569 yards, eight touchdowns and five interceptions in eight games with Arizona.
