GLENDALE, Ariz. — Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner is continuing to make his mark on the team's record books and show why the team rewarded him with a two-year, $19 million contract extension at the end of November.

Conner, who is playing just his 55th game with the Cardinals on Sunday, is now in fifth place on the Cardinals' career rushing yards list.

He came into Sunday's game in eighth place with 3,437 yards, but then ran 71 yards in the first half against the New England Patriots, pushing his total rushing yards as a Cardinal to 3,508. That moved him ahead of Terry Metcalf, John David Crow and Charley Trippi, according to Cardinals senior vice president of media relations Mark Dalton.

After the first half against New England, Conner was just 100 yards away from Johnny Roland, who is in fourth place on the list.

Conner's first half also pushed his 2024 season rushing total to 934 yards, just 66 yards shy of eclipsing the 1,000-yard milestone for the second year in a row.

Conner's fantastic first half also featured a 53-yard run, which was the second longest of his career and longest as a Cardinal, according to Dalton.

Conner added 39 yards in the second half, brining his career total as a Cardinal to 3,547. He is 27 yards shy of 1,000 yards this season and 61 yards away from passing Roland on the career rushing yards list.
