PHOENIX — After a long wait, the time has come. The official 2024 NFL schedule is here!
We've known who the Arizona Cardinals are playing this season, now we know when they are playing. The schedule release day for the NFL is an important time every year for fans and prognosticators alike as they dissect each match-up.

According to the NFL, the Cardinals have the ninth-easiest schedule this year, playing teams like the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Washington Commanders and Los Angeles Chargers at State Farm Stadium.
Outside of their NFC West rivals, the Cardinals will play the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills and Carolina Panthers on the road this season.
Now let's take a look at the full slate of games. Here are five takeaways from the Cardinals' 2024 schedule:
When is the Cardinals' first game of the season?
Preseason:
- New Orleans Saints at Arizona Cardinals. Date and time TBD.
- Arizona Cardinals at Indianapolis Colts. Date and time TBD.
- Arizona Cardinals at Denver Broncos, televised on CBS, Aug. 25 at 2:30 p.m.
Regular season:
- Arizona Cardinals at Buffalo Bills, televised on CBS, Sept. 8 at 10 a.m.
Do the Cardinals play any nationally televised games?
The Arizona Cardinals currently have one scheduled game on Monday Night Football. On Oct. 21, the Cardinals will play the Los Angeles Chargers at State Farm Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
Will the Cardinals play on any holidays?
It doesn't look like the Cardinals play on Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's Day this year.

The city of Phoenix is home to four major professional sports league teams; The NFL's Arizona Cardinals, NBA's Phoenix Suns, WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury and MLB's Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Cardinals have made State Farm Stadium in Glendale their home turf and the Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix is home to both the Suns and the Mercury. The Indoor Football League’s Arizona Rattlers play at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale.
Phoenix also has a soccer team with the USL's Phoenix Rising FC, who play at Phoenix Rising FC Stadium in Phoenix.
The Valley hosts multiple major sporting events every year, including college football's Fiesta Bowl and Guaranteed Rate Bowl; the PGA Tour’s highest-attended event, the WM Phoenix Open; NASCAR events each spring and fall, including Championship Weekend in November; and Cactus League Spring Training for 15 Major League Baseball franchises.
