PHOENIX — Make sure to have a cup of coffee and/or your breakfast ready, Arizona State is getting an early kickoff in two weeks when they head on the road to take on the Cincinnati Bearcats.

The Big 12 Conference announced the kickoff times for Week 8 on Monday and ASU's game will kick off in the early window at 9 a.m. Arizona time. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

It's not often that ASU plays that early. In fact, according to the Sun Devil Athletics website, this will be the first 9 a.m. kickoff for ASU this century.

The most recent kickoff in the early window came in 2020 when ASU played USC at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. ASU lost that game (which kicked off at 10 a.m. due to clocks falling back on Nov. 1), 28-27.

ASU played an 11 a.m. game against Washington State in 2014 and won 52-31. They also played an 11 a.m. game in 2004 against Northwestern in 2004 and won 30-21.

ASU will play No. 16 Utah on Friday at Mountain America Stadium in Tempe. Kickoff for that game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

As for Arizona, they will host the Colorado Buffaloes at Arizona Stadium in Tucson on Oct. 19. That game is scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. Arizona time. This will be the second week in a row that Arizona will play in the 1 p.m. window as they will play No. 14 BYU at 1 p.m. this coming Saturday.
