TUCSON, Ariz. — The road to the Men's College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, will head through Tucson as the NCAA announced the Arizona Wildcats will host one of the 16 four-team regionals at Hi Corbett Field.

After claiming both the regular season and tournament championships in the final season of the Pac-12 Conference, the Wildcats were given the No. 13 seed in the 64-team tournament.

As they finished in the top 16, the Wildcats were named as a regional host. That means a four-team double-elimination tournament will be played at Hi Corbett Field where the winner will advance to the NCAA Super Regionals.

As the host, the Wildcats are the top seed in their regional. The No. 2 seed is the Dallas Baptist Patriots, the No. 3 seed is the West Virginia Mountaineers and the No. 4 seed is the Grand Canyon Antelopes.

This will be the Wildcats' 43rd postseason appearance. They claimed an automatic bid in the NCAA Tournament after defeating Southern California, 4-3, on a walk-off in the Pac-12 Tournament championship game. That was the final game in Pac-12 history as Oregon, Washington, Southern California and UCLA are headed to the Big Ten next season, Stanford and Cal are headed to the ACC and Arizona, Arizona State, Utah and Colorado are headed to the Big 12.

Oregon State's baseball program will play as an independent program in 2025 and Washington State's baseball program will play in the Mountain West in the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons.

Dallas Baptist claimed an automatic bid in the NCAA Tournament by defeating Louisiana Tech in the Conference USA championship game.

West Virginia was selected as an at-large team in the NCAA Tournament. The Mountaineers finished fourth in the Big 12 behind Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas, but lost their first two games in the Big 12 Tournament and were eliminated.

Grand Canyon claimed an automatic bid in the NCAA Tournament after winning the WAC regular season championship. GCU got the automatic bid as WAC tournament champion Tarleton State is currently ineligible for postseason play. This will be GCU's third postseason appearance in the past four years.

The Lopes and Wildcats played three times this season. Arizona won 6-4 in Tucson on March 19. GCU won 5-4 in Phoenix on April 16 and 24-8 on April 30 in Tucson.

Arizona played Dallas Baptist on March 1 in Texas and lost 4-3.  GCU did not play Dallas Baptist this season.

Neither Arizona, GCU nor Dallas Baptist played West Virginia this season.

Tucson Regional Schedule

Regional play will begin with a doubleheader on Friday, May 31. The first game (game one) will be between West Virginia and Dallas Baptist and will begin at noon. Grand Canyon and Arizona (game two) will play later that evening at 6 p.m.

The next day, the losers of the first two games will meet in an elimination game (game three) at 1 p.m. The winners of Friday's games will play at 7 p.m. on Saturday (game four).

The winner of game four will have the opportunity to advance to the Super Regionals with just one win on Sunday.

On Sunday, the winner of game 3 and the loser of game four will play at noon in an elimination game (game five). The winner of game five will then play the winner of game four at 6 p.m. (game six). Since the winner of game four would be undefeated (2-0) heading into game six, they would need just one win to advance. The winner of game five would need two straight wins as they would come into game six with a record of 2-1.

If the game five winner wins game six, they would force a deciding game seven, which would be played on Monday. The time for that game is TBA.
