PHOENIX — According to several reports, the NBA is expected to name Phoenix as the host for the 2027 All-Star Weekend.
It's been a year since Mat Ishbia took over as the Phoenix Suns. And he keeps making moves. This bid -- if reports are true -- is another one.

Since he made his way to the Valley, Ishbia worked quickly to turn this storied franchise around and make Phoenix a destination city again. From big-name player signings to building a new team facility, he has this team trending upwards.
"One year into new governor Mat Ishbia's ownership, Suns win an NBA All-Star bid," NBA insider Shams Charania wrote on X.
The Valley will get a taste of All-Star weekend this year as the Phoenix Mercury is hosting the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game and Weekend events.
Phoenix previously hosted the NBA All-Star Game three separate times. The first was in 1975 at Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The NBA All-Star Weekend returned to Arizona in 1995 at what was once called America West Arena. The most recent All-Star Game in Phoenix occurred in 2009.
Charania said the next three host cities for the NBA All-Star Game are San Francisco in 2025, Los Angeles in 2026 and Phoenix in 2027.
Ishbia's arrival has rejuvenated the Valley's excitement for the Suns and his commitment to a winning culture is evident. The recent trade deadline addition of Royce O'Neale is already paying dividends for the team.
And not only are the Suns performing well on the court, the Franchise is getting recognized for the turnaround and turning heads across the league. Evident by the reports of the 2027 All-Star Game heading to the Valley once again.
The Suns have not yet confirmed the news of Monday's reports. We will add any statement from the NBA or the Suns as they become available.
