PHOENIX — Phoenix Suns' Kevin Durant has been selected to be a starter in this year's All-Star game.
This will mark the power forward's 14th All-Star appearance and his first selection since coming to play in the Valley.
The NBA made the announcement on Thursday.
'KD' is now tied for the seventh-most All-Star nods in NBA history alongside Michael Jordan, Karl Malone, Dirk Nowitzki and Jerry West.
Durant ranks fifth in All-Star Game history with 250 career points scored, trailing only LeBron James (426), Kobe Bryant (290), Jordan (262) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (251).
Durant is the first Suns player to be named an All-Star starter since Amar’e Stoudemire and Steve Nash in 2010.
The selection of Durant, a two-time All-Star game MVP, comes from fans, current NBA players and a media panel.
The NBA veteran thanked his fans and supporters on X on Thursday after the announcement was made. The All-Star game is slated for Feb. 18 in Indianapolis.
