Devin Booker named NBA Western Conference Player of the Week

Booker was honored after scoring an average of 33.7 points per game in the Suns' three wins last week.

PHOENIX — After scoring more than 33 points per game in the Phoenix Suns' three wins last week, guard Devin Booker was named the Western Conference Player of the Week by the NBA on Monday. 

Booker scored 33.7 points per game in Phoenix's wins over the Los Angeles Lakers, LA Clippers and Portland Trail Blazers. That included scoring 33 points against the Lakers and 40 against the Clippers. 

In addition to his 33.7 ppg, Booker added 6.3 assists, 5.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. 

This was the 10th time that Booker has been named the Western Conference Player of the Week and the third time since the start of the 2023-24 season.

Phoenix also has a soccer team with the USL's Phoenix Rising FC, who play at Phoenix Rising FC Stadium in Phoenix.

The Valley hosts multiple major sporting events every year, including college football's Fiesta Bowl and Guaranteed Rate Bowl; the PGA Tour’s highest-attended event, the WM Phoenix Open; NASCAR events each spring and fall, including Championship Weekend in November; and Cactus League Spring Training for 15 Major League Baseball franchises.
