PHOENIX — Game 3 of the World Series between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Texas Rangers is underway at Chase Field in Downtown Phoenix!
There were two awesome moments before the game, as a Valley native sang the National Anthem and two D-backs legends partnered for the first pitch.
'The Star Spangled Banner' was sung by Phoenix native, Jordin Sparks, who became the youngest-ever winner of 'American Idol' when she won season six. She has toured with Britney Spears, Alicia Keys, The Jonas Brothers, New Kids on The Block, and the Backstreet Boys. She has also headlined her own tour and starred in 'Waitress' on Broadway.
You can watch her National Anthem performance below.
After Sparks finished the National Anthem, a squadron of jets from Luke Air Force Base flew over Chase Field. You can read more about that by clicking the link below.
And after that, two members of the 2001 Arizona Diamondbacks World Series champions partnered for the ceremonial first pitch as 'The Big Unit' Randy Johnson threw the pitch to Luis Gonzalez.
