Who to watch in the D-backs World Series: Outfielder Alek Thomas

The 23-year-old centerfielder is showing off his skills in the 2023 postseason.

PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks are headed to the World Series. After a thrilling Game 7 in the 2023 National League Championship Series, the D-backs are celebrating their NL West title.

Among the sea of goggles and flowing champagne fountains in the visiting locker room at Citizens Bank Park, centerfielder Alek Thomas celebrated with his team. A team full of players completely bought in to the team-first mentality.

Everyone had to do their part during this postseason run, and Thomas was no different. He's been a big part of the squad's success.

At 23 years old, Thomas is one of several young players on the team and contributing in a big way. The former second-round pick in 2018 is quickly becoming one of the best defensive outfielders in baseball.

And if you have been watching any of the D-backs games this postseason, you've undoubtedly seen his trademark "We ain't done yet" celebration.

During this postseason, Thomas has seven hits, including four home runs, which is a franchise postseason record.

As the team preps for their World Series matchup against the Texas Rangers, fans will certainly look back at all of the amazing moments so far. Among those will be Thomas' game-tying pinch-hit home run in Game 5 of the NLCS.

Game 1 of the World Series kicks off on Friday in Texas. 12News will be there with all of your D-backs news.
